E.P.I.D.E.M.E.K. is expanding — and we’re looking for dedicated, visionary individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you won’t just hold a title —

You’ll help restore lives, influence policy, and build sustainable housing solutions for restored citizens across Ohio.

🔎 Who We're Looking For

We welcome individuals with lived experience, professional skills, or community leadership backgrounds who are passionate about:

  • Reentry and criminal justice reform

  • Housing justice and economic equity

  • Mental health and addiction recovery

  • Nonprofit development, governance, or fundraising

  • Uplifting marginalized voices and system-impacted families

💼 Open Board Seats & Focus Areas

We are currently recruiting individuals with experience in the following areas:

  • Treasurer / Finance Chair – Budgeting, financial oversight, audits

  • Fundraising & Development – Grant writing, donor relations, fundraising strategy

  • Program Oversight / Services Chair – Behavioral health, reentry services, housing

  • Marketing & Communications – Social media, PR, storytelling, brand building

  • Community Engagement & Advocacy – Policy reform, lived experience, outreach

Our current Secretary position is filled.

🧩 What Board Members Do

As a member of the E.P.I.D.E.M.E.K. Board of Directors, you will:

  • Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in person)

  • Participate on at least one committee

  • Provide governance and strategic input on programs and policies

  • Support fundraising efforts (giving or getting)

  • Act as an ambassador of the mission in your networks

  • Bring your voice, your lived experience, and your leadership to the table

🕰️ Time Commitment
  • Quarterly board meetings (approx. 2 hours)

  • Monthly committee meetings or check-ins

  • 3–5 hours/month average contribution (varies by role)

  • One board retreat or training session annually

📋 Qualifications

We welcome diversity in background, thought, and experience. You do not need prior board experience — just a deep commitment to justice, restoration, and community change. We strongly encourage applications from:

  • Justice-impacted individuals

  • People of color, LGBTQ+ leaders, and people with lived experience

  • Professionals in housing, behavioral health, finance, or nonprofit leadership

This session is open to individuals, partners, and community members who want to learn more about EPIDEMEK’s mission, vision, and expanding impact in 2026. We welcome anyone interested in leadership roles, collaboration, or supporting our programs for justice-involved individuals, youth, and families.
